Principal Munroe-Blum recognized as a top public sector leader

McGill is pleased to announce that Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum has been named as a recipient of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards for 2011. These awards are given out by the Women’s Executive Network, Canada’s leading organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of women in management, executive, professional and board roles. Principal Munroe-Blum and the other recipients were honoured at a gala in Toronto on Dec. 1.

Prof. Munroe-Blum is one of two university leaders named in the Public Sector Leaders category. That category recognizes 15 women who hold senior positions in public-sector organizations, including Crown Corporations and the Canadian Forces. Prof. Munroe-Blum was also recognized in this category in 2009 and 2003.

Co-presented by Scotiabank and KPMG, Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards is bestowed on Canada’s highest achieving female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Winners of the awards are selected by an independent advisory board.
