Life in Outaouais

It’s all about the lifestyle

You can live in a bustling city surrounded by nature or in the countryside steps from the city. Plus, with Gatineau Park at your doorstep, you can enjoy year-round outdoor fun skiing, snowmobiling, cycling, walking, canoeing and so much more. There are also three downhill ski centres within a 30-minute drive of Gatineau.

Everything is nearby! There are festivals galore and don’t forget the great restaurants including several microbreweries. Quality of life is one of the region’s leading attractions.

About the Outaouais Region

The Outaouais region, located in the southwest corner of Quebec, has a population of about 392,000. It is bordered to the northwest by Abitibi-Témiscamingue, to the east by the Laurentians and to the southwest by Ontario with the Outaouais River flowing between Gatineau and Ottawa. Gatineau is a bustling hub and Quebec’s fourth largest city.

We would like to thank the Outaouais Tourist Association for the lovely pictures of the region.
