Madhav Govind Badami
Professor Badami holds a dual appointment within the School of Urban Planning and the McGill School of Environment. His educational journey began with the study of mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, followed by nine years of experience in diesel engine development within the Indian truck and bus industry. Subsequently, he pursued a Master's degree in environmental science at the University of Calgary and went on to achieve a Ph.D. from the School of Community and Regional Planning at the University of British Columbia.
In addition to his joint appointment, Professor Badami is a vital member of the core faculty in the inter-faculty BA&Sc program specializing in Sustainability, Science, and Society.
Prof. Badami's teaching and research interests are in the areas of environmental policy and planning; urban infrastructure and services; urban transport; alternative transport fuels; and environment and development.
