Professor and member of the Architected Materials and Advanced Structures Research Group, he is interested in the micromechanics of hybrid materials, which are combinations of one material and space, or of at least two monolithic materials. His team aims at predicting their macroscopic behavior from an understanding of their microstructure. Current projects stem mainly from biomedical and aerospace applications incollaboration with biology and architecture. This lab's expertise is to integrate multiscale mechanics and biomechanics, besides optimal design and biomimetics.
