Title: Entanglement Entropy Calculations in Interacting Field Theories using Variational Methods.

Abstract: Variational methods are useful for formulating and studying interacting quantum field theories.  After reviewing the basic ideas, we use these variational methods to compute entanglement entropies for several model field theories.  Dependence of the entanglement entropy on the geometry of the problem, the coupling parameters of the interaction, and on time evolution after a quench, all offer insights into the characterisation of entanglement in quantum field theory.
