This unique 13-week study abroad program equips learners with transferable skills necessary in today’s world. A series of specialized courses, coupled with living in multicultural, cosmopolitan Montreal, aim to enhance skillsets, broaden worldviews, and prepare learners for tomorrow’s global workforce. Designed to provide flexibility in course load and opportunities for experiential learning, this program offers five (5) streams and is available twice per year, closely following McGill’s semester schedule.
Stream 1: Management and Entrepreneurship

Topics: Applied AI, Business Analytics, Data Modelling, Data Analytics with Python
Stream 3: Language and Communication

Intensives@McGill
This short program is designed for learners who want to sharpen their skills in data analytics, management, and business, explore new tech-related fields, and experience Montreal. Over 2, 3, or 4 weeks, learners take part in rigorous, in-demand courses taught by McGill instructors, while also enjoying short excursions aligned with their course content and/or that bring Montreal’s history, neighborhoods, and lifestyle to life. Learners enroll in one or two courses (normally 30 hours each) selected from
recommended course bundles in the following streams:
- Management and Entrepreneurship
- Science, Technology, and Innovation
- Language and Communication
- Administration and Governance
- Digital Creative Industries
Exploring the World of STEM
Designed for learners finishing high school or early in their undergraduate degree, this action-packed, hands-on three-week summer program includes fun workshops, lab time, and industry guest speakers and site visits. By the end of the three weeks, participants gain an in-depth idea of which career paths they can pursue with a STEM education.
Study Tours
Study Tours offer participants the opportunity to benefit from McGill’s expert faculty and connections in industry, government, and the community. Normally one to two weeks in length, these custom tours spotlight a research field or industry cluster associated with McGill or Montreal. Participants benefit from faculty-led seminars, industry and research guest speakers, and curated site visits and day trips. Language Programs
Enhanced language skills can make a difference in helping learners open doors and move closer to the career of their dreams. Our programs are shaped to help learners achieve the outcomes that matter to them. Consult the links for more information about each program.
English Spring and Summer Immersion Programs
These programs are designed to help learners improve their English language and communication skills in a fun, interactive, stimulating environment. All-inclusive: cultural activities, accommodation, meals, and more. Practice English all day, every day.
French Spring Break Immersion
This four-week study abroad program allows learners to experience wintertime in Montreal, staying with a Canadian family and working on language skills while experiencing Montreal’s cultural vibrance, various cuisines, and city life.
Medical English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for Nurses
This short program is designed for nurses and nursing students. Learners will visit medical centres and shadow working nurses.
