Dr Piat is an Assistant Professor at McGill University, Department of Psychiatry and has a cross-appointment as Assistant Professor, McGill School of Social Work. Dr Piat’s research is focused on implementation science, mental health recovery and equity. Her priority is to engage and give a voice to equity deserving groups, including service users and families/caregivers. She has been the lead on many Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and McGill University funded projects. Her most recent research is on adapting Walk the Talk Toolkit for equity deserving groups. Walk the Talk Toolkit, is a free online bilingual toolkit designed to help organizations overcome the challenges of implementing recovery-oriented services into their work.
A strong advocate of system transformation through collaboration and co-production, Dr Piat’s interest is on conducting real-world applied research that ultimately makes a difference in the lives of those with mental health challenges.
