The International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) is a global, nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement and development of palliative care. IAHPC resources include:
- Pallinews, which publishes once every two weeks, with articles such as a January 2025 submission by Lukas Radbruch on the value of procrastination in patients when faced with a decision to stop futile treatments; and a B.C. doctor's tips on dignity-conserving practice in palliative care.
- Courses, such as palliative care for neurological conditions and an upcoming one on palliative care nursing.
- Pallipedia—the free, online palliative care dictionary with 1,500 terms comprising much more than definitions, logging tens of thousands of users monthly.
- A free online manual to guide the start-up of a new palliative care service.
IAHPC’s vision is "Toward a world free from health-related suffering." The organization works with governments, associations, agencies, and individuals to improve knowledge, increase access to resources, and foster opportunities in palliative care education, research, and training around the globe. The IAHPC relies financially on grants, donations, and memberships, while offering free memberships to both undergraduate and post-graduate students. It has more than 1,200 members in 86 countries.
