Stéphanie Boucher is the Curator of the Lyman Entomological Museum, McGill University’s insect collection, located on the Macdonald Campus. Her research focuses on the taxonomy, systematics and diversity of leaf-miner flies (Diptera: Agromyzidae), with a particular interest in the poorly known Neotropical fauna. Her work combines traditional morphological approaches with DNA barcoding and biodiversity surveys to document species diversity, describe new species and improve our understanding of insect-plant relationships.
As Curator of the Lyman Entomological Museum, Stéphanie is involved in the care, development and use of the collection, including specimen curation, collection management and research support. She has been teaching Insect Biology (ENTO-330) at McGill for many years and is actively involved in public education and outreach related to insects and biodiversity. She also regularly contributes her expertise to media activities and public science communication.
