MURA is an association for all retirees from McGill University. Membership is free if your employee affiliation at the time of retirement was with a McGill staff association or union that underwrites the cost of membership in MURA for their members (see list on membership form). If you are a McGill retiree, and did not belong to one of these groups, the annual membership fee for 2025-26 is $30.
Activities
MURA offers a variety of activities for its members such as cycling, book clubs, restaurant groups, golf and pickleball.

- free associate membership for spouses and/or significant other.
- membership in McGill Athletics at half the public monthly rate. For information, please use this link.
- membership in the College and University Retiree Associations of Canada (CURAC). It has about forty member organizations in the ten provinces and offers discounts on services such as home/car and healthcare insurance and travel planning (CURAC discounts).
Events
MURA offers a variety of events on a regular basis:
- Social - restaurant groups, museum visits, walking tours, virtual happy hours, etc.
- Cultural - lectures, concerts, theatre
- Information Sessions - on benefits, health, taxation and pension management
