Webinar on the Alberta Referendum
Join MISC at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21st online for a webinar featuring Lisa Young discussing the Alberta Referendum.
On October 19, Alberta will hold a referendum asking whether the province should remain within Canada or work towards the organization of a referendum on separating. The referendum also posed nine other questions about public policy and constitutional issues. In this webinar, Professor Lisa Young from the University of Calgary comments on the results of the referendum and their potential consequences for Alberta and for Canada.
Lisa Young is a professor of Political Science at the University of Calgary, and a long-time observer of Alberta politics. In addition to her academic research, she has written about Alberta politics for Alberta Views magazine, The Tyee and The Conversation Canada. Much of her current research focuses on Alberta, including a SSHRC-funded study of populism in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A. This event is free and open to public; registration is required via Eventbrite.
