2024 Evaluation Capacity Case Challenge
The inaugural edition of the Evaluation Capacity Case Challenge (EC3) took place at the Max Bell School of Public Policy on May 24th and 25th, 2024 (in-person and online). The Case Site selected for 2024 was the Fraser Health Authority's (FHA) Virtual Health Department. They tasked the four teams with the following challenge question,
"How do we lay the foundation for embedding sustainable evaluation practice and the ongoing use of evaluation findings within VHD?"

- Janelle Gowgiel, public health analyst in PCI government and works as a federal contractor with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Injury Prevention's Evaluation Team.
- Francois-Daniel Portelance, Ph.D student enrolled at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University, as he focuses on Evaluation, Community Engagement, and Knowledge Mobilization.
- Emilia Gonzalez, researcher and facilitator, Emilia has been building bridges between research and the social sector for over ten years. Now a PhD student in Social Policy at Toronto Metropolitan University.
- Lauren Jowell, holds a MA in International Law from Georgetown University.
- Elsie Mares, student in the Master of Public Policy at the Max Bell School of Public Policy, McGill University.

- Rachel Scott, senior evaluation associate at the Center for Research Evaluation at the University of Mississippi.
- Gurneet Bhela, an Evaluation Specialist at Greo Evidence Insights, actively engaged in creating evaluation products and supporting knowledge mobilization within the public health sector.
- Kira Chontow, current PhD student in Family Science and Human Development at Montclair State University.
- Mostafa Hanafy, a third year PhD researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
- Adrita Rahman, student in the Master of Public Policy at the Max Bell School of Public Policy, McGill University.

- Bethina Loiseau, a Senior Research and Evaluation officer at Prosper Canada.
- Elaine Les is a PhD student at Montclair State University in the Department of Family Science and Human Development.
- Natalie Pilla, a mixed methods researcher, facilitator, and project manager.
- Erika Sturgis, a project manager for EvaluATE at The Evaluation Center-Western Michigan University.
- Ihsan Thaheem, a doctoral candidate and a teaching associate at Ohio University in the Educational Leadership and Public Policy Affairs Interdisciplinary PhD Program.

Team 4: The Rational Rebels
- Serena McDiarmid, a researcher, educator, and leader with 8+ years of experience in academia and the education field.
- Onyinyechukwu Onwuka du Bruyn, a researcher currently in her final semester of her doctoral program in Educational Research Methods and Statistics with a focus in Program Evaluation at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
- Andrea Vernola, PhD candidate in Evaluation program at Western Michigan University.
- Heather Gillich, a PhD student in Evaluation Studies at the University of Minnesota.
- Sta Kuzviwanza, she worked in public policy development at Airbnb Canada.
