Internship information for students

The McEwen Family Internship Program offers all undergraduate students at McGill's Macdonald Campus a flexible opportunity to complete an internship relevant to their studies, at any point in their degree.

We offer guidance on which internships to pursue, funding for related costs, and assistance with paperwork and applications, so that you can gain invaluable inspiration and hands-on experience.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this internship program, you must:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.7 or higher
  • Find an internship that is relevant to your field of academic study, with a minimum duration of 10 weeks at 35 hours/week or equivalent

Academic credit

Once you secure an internship, you must register for an internship course: either FAES 200. Internship 1./FAES 201. Internship 1B. or FAES 300. Internship 2./FAES 301. Internship 2B..

FAES 200/201 is a no credit course, which means at the end of your internship you will receive a pass/fail grade.

FAES 300/301 is a credited course (3 credits) and upon completion of your internship you will receive a final grade on your transcript.

B.Eng. (Bioresource) students may be able to count the FAES 300/301 internship course toward their Set D and should check with their academic advisor.
