Hematology Fellowship Programs

Our Hematology Fellowship Training Programs usually span one year in duration, although the length may vary (see below for more details).

You will be paired with our internationally renowned faculty who are based at McGill’s affiliated teaching hospitals, community clinics and institutes. They will mentor you and will ensure you receive the most intellectually and scientifically stimulating of educations in the clinical environment.

Hematology Clinician-Scientist Fellowship 1 Year

This is a research-intensive fellowship focused on an aspect of benign or malignant hematology. The chosen research project could be fundamental, translational or clinical in nature, work towards which will constitute 75% of the fellow’s time. Fellows will be expected to present their work at one or more conferences and prepare a manuscript for publication. Clinical duties will comprise 25% of the fellow’s time (eg ten outpatient half-day clinics per month (possibly alternating weeks with two or three half-day clinics per week), or two half-day clinics per week with one weekend “on-call” per month). Lymphoma Fellowship 1 Year

This is a clinical fellowship focused on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD). Fellows will be expected to participate in a clinical and/or translational research project with the aim to present their work at conferences and prepare a manuscript for publication. They will be exposed to patients referred for evaluation and management of LPD in the frontline or relapse settings and will gain proficiency in delivering conventional therapy, experimental therapy in the context of clinical trials and cell therapy (transplant and chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T)). Clinical duties will consist of 3-4 outpatient half-day clinics/week and one weekend “on-call” per month. Fellows will be expected to participate in lymphoma-related teaching sessions with the hematology trainees, attend tumor boards and academic Hematology rounds, with remaining time dedicated to research. Read full description here.

Multiple Myeloma 1 Year
