May 2024 - Lama Iskandarani wins Best Poster or Oral Presentation Award in the Postdoctoral Fellow category for the third year in a row.

Lama won Best Poster or Oral Presentation award (Postdoctoral Fellow category) for her poster entitled "High-Content Imaging Analyses of the Effects of Bisphenol S (BPS) and Bis(3-allyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) Sulfone (TGSA) on KGN Human Granulosa Cells" during the 28th Pharmacology Research Day on May 17, 2024. Congratulations Lama!

April 2024 - Xiaotong (Vicky) Wang - MacIntosh Prize & Nomination for the General's Gold Medal

Vicky won the department MacIntosh prize, and has been nominated for the Governor General's Gold medal. Great achievement Vicky!

April 2024 - Zixuan Li - MedStar Award

Zixuan's publication entitled “The Organophosphate Esters Used as Flame Retardants and Plasticizers Affect H295R Adrenal Cell Phenotypes and Functions”, submitted to the McGill MedStar program, has been chosen to receive a McGill MedStar Award in recognition of the excellent research she carried out in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

Vicky is the winner of the Intersectoral Centre for Endocrine Disruptor Analysis (ICEDA) PhD Award 2023. Congratulations Vicky!

Aileen's paper "Yan H, Hales BF. Effects of an Environmentally Relevant Mixture of Organophosphate Esters Derived From House Dust on Endochondral Ossification in Murine Limb Bud Cultures. Toxicol Sci. 2021 Feb 26;180(1):62-75. doi: 10.1093/toxsci/kfaa180" won this year’s third place award. She won the second prize last year and the first prize the year before. Congratulations Aileen!

Aileen Yan, PhD trainee, wins 2nd place prize from the Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology Specialty Section of the Society of Toxicology

March 2021

Aileen (Han Yan) won the second place prize for her paper in Toxicological Sciences entitled “Exposure to tert-Butylphenyl Diphenyl Phosphate, an Organophosphate Ester Flame Retardant and Plasticizer, Alters Hedgehog Signaling in Murine Limb Bud Cultures” (Toxicol Sci. 2020; 178:251-263. doi: 10.1093/toxsci/kfaa145). This is two years in a row for Aileen since she received the first prize last year for her 2019 paper.

November 2020

Vicky Wang, PhD trainee in Drs. Hales and Robaire labs, won first prize in the Reseau Québécois en reproduction (RQR) 13th Annual Symposium Poster Competition for her poster "Effects of organophosphate ester flame retardants on KGN cells, a human granulosa cell line" in recognition of the excellence of her work, presentation, and knowledge of the subject. Congratulations Vicky!

Barbara Hales, PhD, receives the Narsingh Agnish Fellowship Award

This award recognizes Narsingh Agnish’s contributions to the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention, particularly the implementation of the Education Courses. The Narsingh Agnish Fellowship is awarded to a long-standing member of the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention who has made a major contribution to education in the field of teratology or a related discipline.

Dr. Barbara Hales 2019 Agnish Fellowship presentation video is now available to members of the Society for Birth Defects Research.
