In a message to the McGill Community on July 8th, Principal Fortier announced that, barring any new restrictive public health measures, Fall 2021 convocation ceremonies will be held in person. More details about the ceremony date(s) and venue will be shared in early September on this website. Spring 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 graduates will receive the link to a survey, at their McGill email address, the week of July 19 to help us plan for their in-person make-up celebrations.

Graduation and Convocation Checklist

Graduation vs. Convocation

Graduation is the term used to acknowledge that you have completed your degree requirements and have been approved by Senate to graduate. Convocation is the ceremony where the Chancellor or his delegate confers the degree.

You must apply to graduate and be faculty-approved for graduation in order to partake in Convocation. Learn more about Convocation.
