Academic dress, line-up card, and guest tickets

Reserve Your Academic Dress

You must reserve your cap, gown, and hood through Gaspard LP - McGill's exclusive supplier. Online reservations are now open from November 2nd at 10:00 a.m. until November 16th at 5:30 p.m.

Reserved your cap and gown- check out the pickup schedule below to see where and when you must show up.

To see what regalia looks like for each degree, visit the Gaspard LP website.

Missed the deadline to reserve your cap and gown online - note that the regalia company will have a limited amount of extra caps and gowns the Friday before (November 23rd) or on-site the day of your ceremony available on a first come, first served basis, albeit at higher rates. In such cases, show up early the day when regalia pickup opens, and you will have to pay the rental fee on-site. Refer to the pickup schedule below, and show up as early as possible

Line-up Card

The line-up card lists your name, degree, and any honours you have been awarded. The information on the card will be read by the convocation orator as you cross the stage at the ceremony.

The perforated line-up card is picked up before your cap and gown. You must bring the line-up card with you to the ceremony.

Pick-up Information

Do not forget to bring your McGill ID card.
Should you not have your McGill ID card, you may use any other official piece of photo ID.
If someone else is picking up your cap, gown, line-up card, and tickets, they should bring your student ID card and a signed letter of permission specifying:

› your name
› your student number
› your degree
› your phone number
› the name of the person picking up your academic dress.

Pick-up Schedule - Cap & Gown, Line-up Cards, and Guest Tickets

Below is a schedule for cap, gown, line-up card, and guest tickets pick up. Each graduand may have a maximum of five (5) invited guests, and we ask that you only request the number of tickets you need. If you require more than your allotted five (5) tickets, we will distribute any leftover tickets on the day of convocation outside the entrance to the venue, but there is no guarantee on the number that will be available. It is always advisable to pick up your academic dress, line-up card, and tickets the Friday before the ceremony (November 23rd); however, if necessary, you may also pick them up two (2) hours prior to the beginning of the ceremony.
