Family Care

The Family Care website is the main source of information for student parents at McGill. If you are caring for dependents, you can find a wide array of information and resources related to childcare, policies, schooling, healthcare, and events/activities.

Childcare

There are different types of daycares in Montréal. To learn more about the different types, how to register, and the cost, visit the childcare webpage curated by McGill's Family Care.

If you are the parent of a child who is nursing, PGSS offers a nursing room at Thomson House. This private space provides blankets, rocking chairs, and is adjacent to a bathroom with a changing table. To book this space, please visit the PGSS Family Care webpage. The PGSS Family Care caucus advocates on the behalf of graduate students and postdocs who are pregnant or who have children or other dependents.

Student parent resources

As a student caregiver, you may be eligible for financial support. To learn more, visit the Scholarships and Student Aid Office website.

Visit the student parent resources webpage on the Family Care for more information.
