Program Description
The Graduate Certificate in Accounting offered by the School of Continuing Studies is designed to provide learners with core competencies required to pursue a career in accounting. This program helps candidates prepare for the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Areas of focus include financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, auditing, and accounting information systems.

The program is designed to enable you to:
- Apply current financial accounting practices
- Understand the process of financial reporting
- Perform the duties and responsibilities of an auditor
- Apply the basic principles of tax law
- Determine accounting income, working capital, and flow of funds
- Perform cost accounting, including cost/volume/profit relationships
- Make decisions related to business operations, including investments and financing
- Apply fundamental corporate finance theory, including capital budgeting, firm value maximization, risk, and return.
University-Level Admission Requirements
- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
- English-language proficiency
