International Course in Qualitative Research, April 23-27, 2018
The workshop was led by Dr. Danielle Groleau from the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry. Participants included graduate students, researchers and staff from the Faculty of Public HealthandAdministration and from the School of Medicine, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia as well as researchers and professionals working in the Ministryof Health, Mental Health National Institute,La Comisión Nacional para el Desarrollo y Vida sin Drogas-DEVIDA and several NGOs. There was also a participant from Ecuador.
The participants had the opportunity to learn the rationale behind qualitative methods from a philosophical and social perspective, and had practice sessions with interviewing using the MINI and coding of an interview that was carried out during the workshop. Participants were enthusiastic about the workshop and many have plans to use the MINI in their future research.
