Dr. Serge Gauthier

Dr. Gauthier is the Director of the Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders Research Unit of the McGill Center for Studies in Aging and Professor in the Departments of Neurology & Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and Medicine at McGill. His special interests include consensus approach to the management of dementia in different stages, the ethics of research involving persons with dementia, and primary prevention strategies against cognitive decline and dementia. Dr. Gauthier was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2014 and the Ordre National du Québec in 2017 for his contributions to advancing our understanding of Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and for fostering the development of research networks.
