Julyan joined the Richards Lab in September of 2016 as an undergraduate student in the Joint Honours Computer Science and Biology program at McGill University. Upon completion of his BSc., he continued his training with Dr. Richards as a Masters student in the Department of Human Genetics. His current research involves the use of machine learning to extract predictive patterns from high-dimensional genomic data. The aim of his research is to investigate whether the advent of large medical data sets combined with machine learning techniques can give rise to predictors for common diseases that outperform those that are currently used in the clinic.
