Current research:
My research focuses on the use of machine learning (ML) to address crucial clinical questions in type 1 diabetes. The two main goals of my Research Program are: i) to advance precision medicine in pediatric T1D by studying genotype-phenotype relationships and ii) to empower children with T1D and their families by leveraging ML tools in patient education.
Dr. Makri is looking to recruit a MSc student for the winter 2026 semester.
