McGill is inviting students, staff and faculty with disabilities to signal their interest in participating in the Accessibility Strategy Implementation Committee (ASIC).
As we move into the implementation phase of McGill’s first university-wide Accessibility Strategy, the ASIC will play a central role in guiding, advising, and monitoring progress. The committee will bring together representatives from key units and governance bodies, alongside members of the university community who bring critical insight from their own lived experience.
About the committee
Per the Terms of Reference, the ASIC will support and oversee the rollout of the Accessibility Strategy over the next five years. It will bring together representatives from key administrative units and governance bodies, along with students, faculty, and staff who offer valuable insights through their lived experience of disability.
We are currently seeking students, faculty, and staff with disabilities to join the committee. There are two seats available for each group.
Members will attend three meetings per year, including one public town hall. They will also review key documents and support work in five priority areas: student experience, workforce, outreach, research and knowledge, and physical and digital environments.
Accessibility supports will be provided to foster full participation.
How to participate
If you’re interested in contributing to this important work, please complete this short form by Monday, June 30.
Your expression of interest should briefly explain why you’d like to participate and what perspectives or experiences you would bring to the committee.
Submissions will be reviewed by the committee co-chairs:
- Tynan Jarrett, Director, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
