Dr. Sadeghi presently serves as the Chairman in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at McGill. He is also the Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the MUHC, and Director of McGill Head and Neck Cancer Program.
Dr. Sadeghi graduated from McGill Medicine in 1991. He completed his residency at McGill followed by a research fellowship. He then completed a fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Following his early career at McGill, he moved to the George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he served as Professor of Surgery and Director of Head and Neck Surgery. In 2017, he returned to McGill to lead the department.
Dr. Sadeghi has lectured internationally in the field of Head and Neck Surgery and minimally invasive surgery. His research is focused on Head and Neck cancers. He has pioneered a novel therapeutic, adaptive, and personalized approach to oropharyngeal cancer with Transoral Robotic Surgery and Transoral Laser Microsurgery. He has contributed to the development of endoscopic surgical techniques for sinonasal tumors. His other areas of research include cancer biology, human papilloma virus (HPV) and head and neck cancer, head and neck endocrine surgery, quality of life, and outcome research after head and neck cancer treatment.
Dr. Sadeghi serves as Director of the McGill Head and Neck Cancer Program, leading head and neck cancer multidisciplinary care services, as well as, its research, education and clinical missions.
