Brandy Nālani McDougall is the ahupuaʻa of Aʻapueo in Kula, Maui, McDougall is the author of two poetry collections, “The Salt-Wind, Ka Makani Paʻakai” (Kuleana ʻŌiwi Press, 2008) and “ʻĀina Hānau, Birth Land” (University of Arizona Press, 2023). McDougall's critical monograph, “Finding Meaning: Kaona and Contemporary Hawaiian Literature” (University of Arizona Press, 2016), is the first extensive study of contemporary Hawaiian literature; it won the 2017 Beatrice Medicine Award for Scholarship in American Indian Studies.
Kayla Czaga is a BC based poet whose works have been included in The Best Canadian Poetry in English series eight times, Czaga is the author of award-winning poetry collections including “Midway” (House of Anansi @houseofanansi, 2024), “Dunk Tank” (House of Anansi, 2019), and “For Your Safety Please Hold On” (Nightwood Editions @nightwood_editions, 2014).
Sheryda Warrener is the author of “Hard Feelings” (2010, Invisible Books), “Floating Is Everything” (2015, Harbour Publishing), and most recently, “Test Piece” (2022, Coach House Books), Warrener is a lecturer in the School of Creative Writing at UBC, and a curator of The Provocation Collection, which is a series of material prompts for writers designed in collaboration with artists.
