Who is Eligible to do a Micro-ExP?

This program is open to all students, but our priority is 1st and 2nd undergraduate students.


What are the Micro-ExP options?

  1. Micro-Project: A Micro-Project involves 12 hours of work, and there are two project types namely, individual, or team based. All micro-projects are unpaid - learn more.

  2. Micro-Placement: A Micro-Placement involves 15 hours of work, and gives students on-site access to a specific organization allowing them to observe, ask questions, and network.


What is the time commitment required of Micro-ExP participants?

On top of your Project/ Placement, you must attend the following sessions:

  • ExP Kick-Off Session
  • Wrap Up & Reflect

*If you have a conflict with one of these live sessions, it may be possible to watch a recording.


How do I get my Certificate of Completion?

All students who participate and complete a Micro-ExP will receive a certificate acknowledging their completion on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR). Please allow 2-3 weeks following wrap-up for this to appear on your record.

Follow these steps to view your CCR:

  1. Sign in to myInvolvement
  2. Click your first initial or photo - see top-right
  3. Click "Co-Curricular Record"
  4. Press the "Save" button - see top-right

What is my McGill Username?

Your McGill Username is based on your legal, rather than preferred names (e.g. firstname.lastname [at] mail.mcgill.ca). To ensure uniqueness, it may include an initial, middle name, or number. Log into Minerva https://www.mcgill.ca/minerva -> Personal menu -> Password for McGill Username to find out your McGill Username.
