Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, the longest-running physical education program in the country, serving the community since 1912.

The Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education has a distinguished history that is over 100 years old. The Department is led by a number of innovative and award-winning faculty who’s teaching and research leads to improved health, wellness, and disease prevention.

The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education offers programs at both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels. You are invited to explore our program offerings.

McGill University launches Sylvan Adams sports science institute to study human performance

A $29 million gift from Quebec-born entrepreneur Sylvan Adams will go towards McGill’s Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education in the Faculty of Education with the long-term goal of improving human performance and promoting healthier living.
