Tuesday, November 11, 2025 02:00to03:00

McGill University’s Office of Industry Partnerships, in collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Research and Research Financial Management Services, invites Faculty members and research administration staff to a McGill-led Mitacs information session designed to support you in planning and managing successful Mitacs applications.

About Mitacs:

For over 20 years, Mitacs has been advancing innovation across Canada by connecting researchers with partners in industry, non-profits, hospitals, municipalities, and international universities. Working with 70 universities and over 6,000 partners, Mitacs programs have supported thousands of McGill professors and trainees, bringing in millions of dollars in funding.

Why attend?

  • Key pre-award considerations: intern status and requirements, participants roles and responsibilities, intellectual property management, agreements (e.g. NDAs), and submission timeline and deadlines.
  • Important post-award matters: Mitacs receipt of partner’s payments, release of funds, and what to expect during project administration (such as key financial risks, and compliance requirements).

Speakers

  • Agapi Agapitos, Industry Partnerships Officer, McGill University
  • Maria Capizzi, Awards Officer, OSR
  • Theresa Ewen, Research Financial Servicers Supervisor, Financial Services
  • Rosa Sciangula, Research Financial Servicers Supervisor, Financial Services
