Education and Training

The Education and Training Committee of the Division of Child Psychiatry at McGill University is composed of representatives from each of the McGill University teaching hospitals that offer psychiatric services to children, adolescents and their families. These are the Montreal Children's Hospital/McGill University Health Centre, the Jewish General Hospital and the Douglas Mental Health University Institute.

The mandate of this committee is to organize educational events of topical interests in child psychiatry to health professionals in the community.

The committee has organized an annual conference for over 20 years that takes place each April, at which time speakers of international renown are invited to present their clinical and research expertise.

Continuing professional education courses are offered during the winter months and are made available by video conference. They address basic topics in child psychiatry and are available both to local front line staff, as well as to our Réseau universitaire intégré de santé (RUIS) community.
