As the demand for impact investing jobs outstrips the supply, students are increasingly drawn to opportunities to work for funds like the Desautels Capital Management’s Socially Responsible Investment Fund to get a leg up on their competition.
Created in 2009, Desautels Capital Management hires students in the Master of Management in Finance (MMF) program and the Honours in Investment Management (HIM) program to manage four multi-million dollar funds.

The McGill Master of Management in Finance (MMF) has been named the top program in Canada and secured a top-20 spot in the QS Masters in Finance Rankings 2021.
Released today, the QS World University Rankings places the McGill MMF 1st in Canada and 17th internationally out of 166 programs. Investment leader CFA Montréal has awarded two scholarships to Desautels students Rakan Lamy (BCom’20) and Xinyan Wang (MMF’20) for their high academic achievement and engagement in the investment community.
The scholarship, awarded to a total of six students based in Montreal, is given to finance students who have their sights set on becoming CFA charterholders.
On January 31, the Masters Office hosted the annual Desautels Cup. The event brought together nine teams from the MBA, Master of Management in Analytics and Master of Management in Finance programs and welcomed back MBA and Executive MBA alumni as distinguished judges.
