March 2016 | Ignacio Nazif-Munoz won the Arts Insights Dissertation Award for the best dissertation in the social sciences at McGill completed in 2015. Milaine Alarie was awarded an Arts Graduate Student Teaching Award. Congrats to you both!
October 2015 | A recently published study by Eran Shor, Alex Miltsov and their colleagues at Stony Brook university on the media’s underrepresentation of women and its possible explanations is featured at the ASA's "Recent Selected Articles" section. Their paper is already receiving wide media coverage.

July 2015 | Congratulations to our recent PhD, Christine Proulx. Her paper, co-authored with her doctoral thesis supervisor Céline Le Bourdais, “Impact of Providing Care on the Risk of Leaving Employment in Canada”, published in the Dec. 2014 issue of the Canadian Journal on Aging, was selected to be among 16 finalists for the 2015 Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research. The paper was selected from over 2500 articles in 77 academic journals, and is based on her doctoral dissertation.
