Women who see themselves as having lower social status are more likely than other people to show early signs of heart stress linked to future disease risk, according to a new study led by researchers at McGill and Concordia universities.


Dr. Adrian Dancea has been appointed to a third and final mandate as Division Director of Pediatric Cardiology with the term to commence on July 1, 2020.
A medical graduate of the University of Ottawa, Dr. Dancea completed his pediatric residency and cardiology subspecialty training at McGill University and the Montreal Children's Hospital (MCH). Along the way he also picked up a Physician Executive MBA (University of Tennessee). An accomplished interventional pediatric cardiologist (training at UCSF), Dr. Dancea has led his Division since 2009.

Montréal, June 18, 2019 – The first research chair in Quebec focused on women’s cardiac health, propelled by Heart & Stroke and McGill University, will officially be launched on July 1 via a research project led by Dr. Natalie Dayan, Assistant Professor of Medicine at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine and Director of Obstetrical Medicine in the division of General Internal Medicine at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
