A day after claiming the top spot in the country in the Maclean's magazine university rankings, McGill University has moved up on the world stage as well, rising to 11th place from 19th in the Times Higher Education rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health education.
Up to 15 Trudeau Scholarships are awarded nationally each year to support doctoral candidates pursuing research of compelling present-day concern, touching upon one or more of the four themes of the Foundation (Human Rights and Dignity, Responsible Citizenship, Canada in the World, and People and Their Natural Environment).
The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada is offering its Grants for Women Award of $7,500.00, for women enrolled in graduate programs of studies (MSc/PhD) or professional programs at a similar level (medicine, law) at accredited universities all across Canada. The aim is to assist women with financial needs to complete their studies leading to careers that will improve the quality of women's lives.

McGill is sending 25 graduate students to this years Canadian Student Health Research Forum in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The event, now in its 24th year, provides a venue for health research trainees from across Canada to present their work, network and be recognized for the excellence of their contributions.
Richard and Edith Strauss Clinical Fellowships in Medicine Established in 2010 by Richard and Edith Strauss Canada Foundation to fund fellowships for outstanding Residents. Application Deadline: June 20, 2011. Value: $40,000 stipend for the Recipient. Funding start date: July 01, 2011, at the earliest.
