Moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of the Haitian earthquake

On Tuesday, January 19 at 4:53 p.m., universities across Quebec will join in a moment of silence on their campuses in memory of the victims of last week’s catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.

Devastation in Haiti

The McGill community continues to watch with apprehension as news of the devastating earthquake in Haiti develops. We are making inquiries about any members of our community who may be in that country at the moment and we will continue to do so in the coming days as communications are restored.

Statement on MUNACA

Recent advertisements purchased by MUNACA in campus newspapers and some Montreal dailies have contained misleading and inaccurate information. The University administration understands that in the heat of a labour dispute, rhetoric can go beyond normal discourse and things can be said or done, in support of a position, which might not otherwise be advanced. Nonetheless, errors demand correction.
