Public health warning

A rabid bat was found lying on the sidewalk at McGill’s Roddick Gates on Friday, September 10th 2010 around noon.

Rabies is a viral infection that can be transmitted by the bite of an infected animal. In the case of a bat, this bite can be very small and may go unnoticed.

Therefore, if you touched or manipulated this bat or were scratched by or bitten by it, please call Info-Santé at 811 or the McGill Student Health Services at (514) 398-6017 to discuss the need to receive a preventive treatment against rabies.
