Venez rencontrer de jeunes diplomé.e.s de l’Université McGill en emploi à Montréal et leur poser toutes vos questions en français sur la façon dont iels ont fait décoller leur carrière ! Une activité unique pour les questionner sur leurs responsabilités, leurs défis, la place du français au travail ou la culture d’entreprise dans laquelle ils-elles évoluent. Activité en français reconnue dans votre dossier parascolaire (co-curricular record). Une collaboration du Centre d’enseignement (CEF) et du Service de planification de carrière (CaPS).
SPEAKERS & BIOS
Camille Labat
Ayant grandi dans plusieurs pays européens, Camille Labat a décidé de poursuivre ses études au Canada après avoir porté son choix sur l'Université McGill. Elle y a étudié les sciences politiques et a rejoint lors de ses dernières années de baccalauréat plusieurs associations étudiantes, telles que MCGill International Review (MIR) et International Relations Students' Association of McGill (IRSAM). Par la suite, Camille s'est investie dans un cabinet de conseil spécialisé dans le financement gouvernemental pour les entreprises opérant au Canada. Elle y est restée 3 ans, pendant lesquels elle a gravi les échelons, de consultante à chef d'équipe, du département des subventions au Québec. Depuis septembre 2021, Camille est la responsable des opérations d’Eyful une startup médicale utilisant la réalité augmentée et l’intelligence artificielle pour aider les personnes atteintes de maladies rétiniennes à retrouver leur vision.
Sebastian Ballesteros
Sebastian Ballesteros a toujours été passionné par la technologie, les mathématiques et les sciences. À l’issue de ses études secondaires au Mexique, il a décidé de venir étudier au Québec. Lorsqu’il poursuivait un baccalauréat ès sciences en génie informatique à l'Université McGill, Sebastian s’est joint au Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics en tant que stagiaire en 2020. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme, il a rejoint l'équipe en tant que développeur de logiciels pour travailler sur des projets tels que EpiShare, Bento et FreezeMan. Il contribue au développement et à la mise en œuvre des solutions logicielles avec de multiples technologies.
Elisabeth Chima
Elizabeth Chima est gestionnaire des relations au sein de la division des services bancaires aux entreprises de la HSBC à Montréal. Elle a obtenu son diplôme de la Faculté de gestion Desautels en 2020 en tant que majore de sa promotion, avec une double majeure en finance et gestion internationale et une mineure en économie. Pendant ses études à l’Université McGill, elle s’est impliquée dans plusieurs organisations dirigées par des étudiant.e.s, notamment en tant que directrice exécutive de Desautels Management Achievement Awards et directrice de la logistique pour le club Desautels Women in Business. En dehors du travail, elle se passionne pour le bénévolat au sein de la communauté. Elle est entre autres mentore à la Social Innovation Academy.
LEVEL UP: The Change Maker's Guide to Teamwork & Leadership (Intro)

DESCRIPTION: The intention of this interactive three (3) part program is to empower participants in developing teamwork, leadership skills, and practical strategies for operating in a range of plausible yet unpredictable futures.
Please note this is the 75 minute Introduction to the LEVEL UP series & features an activity designed to dive deep and explore teamwork & leadership as well as provide information about the program.
DESIRED OUTCOMES for this INTRO:• Experience how to lay the ground for creative destruction by doing the hard work in a fun way.• Make it possible to speak the unspeakable and get skeletons out of the closet.• Build trust by acting all together to remove barriers.
DESIRED OUTCOMES of the LEVEL UP Program include: Engaging in a learning community through interactions, experimentation, and sharing. Recognizing and welcoming inclusive practices into team settings. Practicing strategic collective processes such as decision-making in various contexts. Defining actions to be implemented to develop resilience as leaders, team members, and learners. This session is interactive and ideally you will be able to use your audio during activities.

Desired outcomes of the program include: Engaging in a learning community through interactions, experimentation, and sharing. Recognizing and welcoming inclusive practices into team settings. Practicing strategic collective processes such as decision-making in various contexts. Defining actions to be implemented to develop resilience as leaders, team members, and learners. Ideally you will be able to use your audio and video during this interactive session!
Crash Course in Getting Comfortable Negotiating Job Offers

- Assess a job offer and identify important aspects to consider
- Define negotiation, and understand factors influencing negotiations
- Understand the benefits of negotiating and develop strategies to prepare for the process
