Graduate students newly admitted into a program in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (Macdonald Campus) can attend pre-arrival and orientation activities on both the downtown and Macdonald campuses.
These orientation events are for all new McGill grad students.
In this Fall Orientation event, jointly organized for new Macdonald undergraduate and graduate students, drop by anytime during the Fair to meet representatives from over 35 McGill and Macdonald services and student groups! Learn about the important resources available to you as a McGill student. Refreshments will be available!
Join us in celebrating the achievements of 28 outstanding students from across the Macdonald Campus who have received NSERC and Faculty Undergraduate Student Research Awards. The USRA program fosters undergraduate engagement in research and inspires future careers in research and development. We gratefully acknowledge the support of NSERC, our generous donors, academic units, and dedicated faculty mentors. Attend the poster presentations to learn about the innovative research being conducted by our award recipients and help recognize their accomplishments.

Are you looking for hands-on opportunities to apply and gain new skills beyond the classroom, but you are not sure where to start?
Join the Office of Experiential Learning and Community Outreach for a special info session where we answer all of your questions over free delicious pizza!
You will get to learn all about the two programs offered, the resources and funding available, as well as meet the team behind the programs. The two programs that will be discussed are:
Macdonald Campus master’s and doctoral student competitors present their research in 3 minutes to a non-specialist audience with one non-animated slide (competition rules). The program includes a mandatory 3-part workshop series and a group coaching session to help students prepare for the competition. Students also have access to additional individual coaching sessions as needed. Thanks to the generous support of the Lister Family Engaged Science Initiative, the following prizes will be offered: First place - $900; Second place - $600; Third place - $350; People’s Choice Award - $300.
The Student Experience Enhancement Fund (SEEF) for the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (FAES) supports extracurricular experiential learning initiatives. These active learning opportunities foster intentional reflection and the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and values that complement the traditional classroom experience. Open to undergraduate students and Farm Management and Technology students.
Award values:
up to $2,000 for an individual student
up to $5,000 for a group
