CFTR in microdomains

CFTR is situated in nanoscale liquid ordered regions of the plasma membrane called lipid rafts that fuse to form large ceramide-rich platforms in response to many types of cell stress and when secretion is stimulated by physiological agonists. CFTR interacts both physically and functionally with other proteins at the cell surface. We want to know if those interactions depend on the nature of the microdomain and how they are altered when CFTR is stimulated.

While this web page is accessible worldwide, McGill University is on land which has served and continues to serve as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose footsteps mark this territory on which peoples of the world now gather. This land acknowledgement is shared as a starting point to provide context for further learning and action.
