Julie Godin
Industry Liaison Manager

Julie Godin joined the McGill Engineering Career Centre - ECC in 2010. She oversees all ECC activities while actively taking part in various roles including career advising and industry outreach.

Julie holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering Physics and possesses 10 years of experience in the telecommunication industry. She is always thrilled to share her industry knowledge with the students as well as to connect them with professional engineers.


Maureen Huddleson
Recruitment, Events, Communications Manager

Maureen joined the McGill Engineering Career Centre in August 2007 and is enjoying every moment of her work with external employers and students. Prior to that, she worked at the John Molson School of Business in the Career Centre.

She enjoys swimming, biking, and travelling.


Benjamin Isaac, MFA
Internship Advisor

Benjamin Isaac has worked at McGill University since 2004, encompassing a wide variety of roles ranging from Academic Advisor to Administrative Coordinator to Program Manager. After joining the Engineering Career Centre in February 2016, Benjamin actively incorporates new technologies, media and innovative solutions to promote career development initiatives with industry professionals, engineering students and student groups to further enhance their experience at the Faculty of Engineering.

Benjamin holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Film Production and Production Management from Miami International University, and enjoys travelling, film, cooking and sports.


Rachel Schafts
Industry Liaison Associate/Career Advisor

Rachel Schafts joined the Engineering Career Centre team in September 2019, after a 15-year career in human resources, recruitment and career transition advising in the USA, UK and Canada. She has reviewed thousands of different CVs, conducted hundreds of interviews and negotiated job offers with professionals in a variety of industries including Engineering Consulting, Biotechnology and Higher Education. Rachel is always happy to share her knowledge and experiences with students, and to facilitate new opportunities with industry partners.

Rachel holds a master’s degree in Human Resources & Industrial Relations and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She enjoys photography, travelling, chasing storms and Pilates.


Tim Paterson
Industry Liaison Associate/Career Advisor

Tim Paterson joined McGill in 2021 after 12 years of experience working in the Mining and Metals industry. He has leadership experience in HR and commercial roles in a Global 500 company, including as global manager of a graduate talent program that onboarded more than 400 technical roles per year. Tim is thrilled to be using his knowledge and networks to help students to successfully launch their careers.

Tim holds a BA in Pacific & Asian Studies from the University of Victoria, and he enjoys sports, video games, camping and spending time with his family.


Soraya Kahlain, CRHA
Industry Liaison Associate/Career Advisor – Software Engineering Co-op

Soraya joined the Engineering Career Centre in August 2021, after working for over 6 years in human resources, specializing in talent attraction and development. She has worked in the Engineering Consulting, Telecommunications and non-profit sectors. She has been involved in countless recruitment processes as well as piloting internship and leadership development programs. She is passionately committed to facilitating co-op opportunities in software engineering while guiding students in their internship search.

Soraya holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Montreal. She loves to travel, cook and guide individuals in their pursuit for Ikigai.
