Kristy Ng

Kristy received a Bachelor of Science (BSc, Honours) in Biochemistry with a specialization in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Ottawa in 2022. Her undergraduate research focused on developing a heterologous prime-boost vaccination using oncolytic viruses expressing tumor-associated antigens as a therapeutic strategy for dedifferentiated liposarcoma. She has gained extensive experience working in various microbiology research groups and with the Public Health Agency of Canada, the latter sparking an interest in epidemiology. Building on her interdisciplinary background in microbiology, immunology, and oncology, Kristy pursued a Master of Science in Epidemiology at McGill University, completing her degree in 2024. Her MSc thesis investigated the dynamics of the naturally acquired serological immune response to HPV and its impact on HPV infection in unvaccinated, newly formed heterosexual couples.

As a research assistant (2024-), Kristy continues to conduct research on the role of the natural humoral immune response to HPV. She also supports other team members in their work in cancer epidemiology, as well as in fundraising and knowledge translation activities for the Division.

As a study coordinator for the RISE-UP Study (2025-), the Canadian component of a global study on Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Kristy is responsible for overseeing a range of administrative and operational activities. This includes coordinating with research personnel, facilitating study promotion and recruitment efforts, orchestrating day-to-day conduct of the study, and overseeing data collection.
