Mother Earths Way Resource guide Cover 1. Mother Earth’s Way: A Beginning Resource Guide For Early Childhood Educators

In consultation with a knowledge keeper, this guide offers cultural awareness learning around the seasons (Mother Earth’s Cycle) along with suggestions for early childhood learning experiences. Our hope is that settler teachers will strengthen their own understandings to develop classroom practice and pedagogy through Indigenous (First Nations), specifically Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk), beliefs and knowledge.

This resource guide is offered up to non-Indigenous teachers and classrooms, however, our invitation to explore it extends to Indigenous early childhood educators as well, who intend to include Indigenous culture as curriculum.

Outdoor Schools Toolkit for Teachers Image2. Mi'gmaq/Forest Kindergarten

This toolkit created by Joyce Germain and Brenda Germain (Listuguj First Nation) guides early educators through their development of a community, nature-based kindergarten program that ‘walks alongside’ by combining Mi’gmaq land-based learning and Western forest school approaches.
