Dr. Miriam Santos Dutra is the Chief Operating Officer at the McGill Centre for Translational Research in Cancer and a Highly Qualified Professional Fellow at Institut TransMedTech Montréal. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Immunology from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, with an internship at the University of Cambridge. Her career spans international postdoctoral research in Germany, Portugal, and the U.S., with a focus on biomedical sciences and translational research. Since moving to Montreal in 2017, Miriam has steadily advanced through leadership roles at McGill, from Research Coordinator until stepping into a COO position in 2022. Along the way, she also contributed her skills as a medical writer, project strategist, and research facilitatior. She is passionate about turning complex science into real-world solutions, building bridges between researchers, clinicians, and innovators. With a knack for strategy, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the occasional science pun, she thrives at the intersection of research, operations, and a well-organized calendar.
