Welcome to the Diagnostic Radiology Department

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at McGill University is one of the oldest departments in North America. In February 1896, only three months after the discovery of X-Rays by Roentgen, radiography was performed in our University to locate a bullet in the leg of a gunshot victim. This was the beginning of a long and exciting journey, which over the years has solidified the role of Medical Imaging as an integral aspect of patient care. Medical Imaging has emerged as one of the most dynamic fields in Medicine.
