Dr. Qihui “Jim” Zhai is an expert diagnostician and translational investigator in head and neck pathology as well as urologic pathology. He has ample first hand management skills and experience by overseeing large immunohistochemistry and FISH laboratories in Houston Methodist Hospital and Mayo Clinic Florida.
Dr. Zhai is an internationally and nationally sought after speaker on Urologic, and Head and Neck Pathology. He is a repeated fac-ulty member for the USCAP Annual Meeting Short Course, CAP Anatomic Course, ASCP Seminars, and state societies of pathologists for more than a decade. He authored and edited seven pathology textbooks on Head and Neck, Urinary Bladder, Prostate, Endocrine Pathology, and Diagnostic Immunohistochemistry. His most recent book published with CAP Press is “Quality Management of Anatomic Pathology Laboratory”, which has been extremely well received. He contributed significantly to pathol-ogy literature by publishing about 500 hundred peer-review manuscripts, review articles, abstracts, book chapters, and other for-mal writings.
Dr. Zhai has been section editor of Archives of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, and Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology, as well as reviewer for numerous pathology journals. He has been heavily involved in the leadership of major national pathology societies committees and leadership in state pathology society committees and state pa-thology societies, including the USCAP Education Committee, CAP Publication Committee, CAP Surgical Pathology/ Immunohisto-chemistry, and CAP Nomination Committee.
