Biography:
Dr. Bassam Abdulkarim is a Clinician-Scientist Radiation Oncologist practicing at McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), Cedars Cancer Centre and Full Professor at the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology. He is senior scientist, principal investigator at the Research Institute of MUHC in the Cancer Research Program, Associate member of the Division of Experimental Medicine (Department of Medicine) and the Graduate Studies of Pathology (Department of Pathology) at McGill University.
Current research:
Breast Cancer Subtypes and Risk of Locoregional Recurrence; Surrogate biomarkers to predict radiation toxicity in early breast cancer; Role of DNA repair protein O(6)-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) with respect to GBM invasion.
