Welcoming Dr. Mina Farag to the Department of Pathology

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Mina Farag back to McGill's Department of Pathology, as an Assistant Professor at the MUHC-Glen site.

Dr. Mina Farag is a gastrointestinal and liver pathologist, double board certified by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Pathology.

He received his MD degree from Alexandria University, followed by a Master of Science degree and two postdoctoral research fellowships at the Toronto Centre for Liver Diseases, University of Toronto, where his work centered on novel hepatitis B viral biomarkers. After completing his diagnostic and molecular pathology residency at McGill University, Dr. Farag pursued a gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary pathology fellowship at the University of Chicago under the direction of Dr. John Hart and Dr. Namrata Setia.  

Dr. Farag's main academic interests include liver diseases including viral hepatitis and steatotic liver disease, as well as gastrointestinal oncology and translational biomarker development.
