Expertise
The practice of dietetics targets the interrelationship of human health with food choices and physiological status. My work with professional dietitians and dietetics students participating in McGill's dietetic internship program (Professional Practice (Stage) in Dietetics) is directed toward fostering professional competency development in nutrition practice in the community, in clinical nutrition settings, including hospitals, food service organizations, or in food and health-related industries. This theme is further explored in my research in food security -- the relationship of food access and choice on the nutrient intake and nutritional status of low-income populations. Research has addressed assessment of the dietary status of low-income groups and media training of dietitians.
