There are over 37,000 citations for Professor Maysinger's publications (Google scholar). Among those, the most cited one is a Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (Autophagy, 2016) with DJ Klionsky and many other outstanding scientists. Prof Maysinger was honored to join a world-class team to contribute to it. The experimental study leading to this review is a PhD thesis of her former PhD student, Sebastien Boridy, who is currently directing the research on immunogenicity in Charles River company in Montreal. The guidelines are cited more than 10,000 times. Among other notable contributions are several publications mostly in Nanoscale explaining the impact of nanostructures on cellular organelles and cell functions e.g.

In most of these publications (90%) Prof Maysinger is either the first or the corresponding author. Her earlier studies were linked with mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative processes, including cholinergic system e.g. unilateral cortical lesions and more recently cerebral ischemia. Among these publications there is a PNAS and TIPS (Trends in pharmacological sciences), a review on nanosensors to detect enzymatic cleavage of cell substrates by caspases; These studies were also described in Nature Methods published in collaboration with RE Campbell from Alberta. i.e. Ding Y, Li J, Enterina JR, Shen Y, Zhang I, Tewson PH, Mo GC, Zhang J, Quinn AM, Hughes TE, Maysinger D, Alford SC, Zhang Y, Campbell RE.
