The MSSI invites you to attend the second lecture in our exciting fall series.

Just how important is it to conserve and restore the world's tropical forests? Frances Seymour, a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the World Resources Institute in Washington, DC, will speak about the big picture of forests and climate change through the lens of her global research and policy advising, with examples of strategic interventions at a variety of scales, including sustainably sourced timber and new policy frameworks.

Frances' visit to McGill is jointly hosted by the McGill Sustainability Systems Initiative Invited Speaker Series and  Wood at Work 2017, an annual conference and community of practice that links designers, engineers, and urbanists who use wood with the people and communities that make sourcing this wood sustainable and beneficial for people and forests.

We warmly invite members of the MSSI community, Wood at Work participants, and the broader community to join us for this exciting event.
